Sometimes, when the weight of the world bears down, all we really need is a distraction. The options are near endless – you could do some exercise, see some friends or simply enjoy a nice meal.
It’s probably not going to change the world.
Then again, hummus has been known to try and help solve plenty of problems.
#SPREADHUMMUSNOTHATE

Making the world happier, one plate of hummus at a time
Remember the #spreadhummusnothate movement on social media? Or when Sydney mother of four Lina Jebeile tried to break down cultural barriers by sharing hummus with strangers?
Maybe hummus is a more powerful spread than we realise. In any case, this account sure is easy on the eyes.
This is by no means the first in the series of ‘Hot Dudes’ Instagram accounts. There’s Hot Dudes and Kittens, Hot Dudes and Wine, Hot Dudes and Coffee and Hot Dudes and Dogs.
But this is the only one that features one of our all time favourite dips made from chickpeas, tahini, lemon, garlic and salt.
Hot Dudes and Hummus (“Israel’s Yummiest”) came about when Israel-based university students Betty Ilovici, Orly Geduld, Ayala Lesser and Israel Zarin decided to create an “apolitical branding campaign for Israel to shed some light on the humour, diversity, fun, beauty and culture that are so vibrant and rich in this country,” Ilovici told Cosmopolitan in 2016.
The account took off more or less immediately, and now has more than 40,000 followers.
We can see why.
How good does that hummus look??
"We may not find the solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict [YET], but we know that there is no dispute over two of the greatest things in the world — hot dudes, and hummus,” Ilovici tells Cosmo.
We think she’s on the money – at least as far as hummus is concerned.
If you are or know a hot dude who eats hummus, send your submissions to hotdudesandhummus@gmail.com.
