Johnny cakes are like little pan-fried dampers, simply made with flour water and oil or butter. Serve them up with curries and stews - like the curried sausages in Brooke Boney's recipe, shared on The Cook Up - or split them open and top with butter and golden syrup, or whatever toppings you fancy.
