Young Bangladeshi filmmaker Rezwan Shahriar Sumit's film 'Master' has secured a place at the upcoming 73rd Sydney Film Festival, one of the oldest film festivals of Australia. Through the lens of local politics in a remote region of Bangladesh, the film offers a powerful reflection of the country's broader political landscape, exploring the dynamics of power, influence, and social change.


Rezwan Shahriar Sumit's political thriller 'Master' is set to have its Australian premiere at this year's Sydney Film Festival.

Last February, the film won the 'Big Screen Award', the top prize in the Big Screen Competition at the 54th Rotterdam International Film Festival.

In addition to directing, Rezwan Shahriar Sumit also produced the film. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Sabbir Hossain Shovon. It stars Nasir Uddin Khan, Ajmeri Haque Badhan, Zakia Bari Mom, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Sharif Siraj and Tasnova Tamanna in the lead roles.

Cinematographer of the film is Tuhin Tamizul and edited by Kristan Sprague.
