连接位于今日罗马与布林迪西的阿皮亚大道是罗马共和国时期最古老、战略地位最重要的道路之一，全长约660公里，兴建于公元前400年左右，前后修建历时近68年时间，完成后起了沟通罗马与非洲北部和远东地区的作用。

如果获得联合国教科文组织的批准，阿皮亚古道将成为继中国长城之后第二长的世界遗产。
