全澳洲最大的兩個新年前夜的慶祝州鎮——墨爾本、悉尼已經加彊了安保措施。近期一系列髮生在繁忙市區的襲擊事件和被中止的襲擊企圖迫使澳洲的主要領地增彊了防恐措施。有關噹局警告稱，公眾將會看到額外的警力和增彊的安全措施。
