H.R.H King Norodom Sihamoni will preside the Mozart in Angkor project that celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Apsara Authority.


On the occasion of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Apsara Authority, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Tourism and the artist collective "Mozart in Angkor" and more than 70 Cambodian artists will present the first international opera festival in the archaeological complex.

The mind behind the project is Australian composer and conductor Aaron Carpenè who recently met H.R.H. King Norodom Sihamoni in Angkor to present Him with an ambitious plan to perform Mozart's Magic Flute combined with the music and dance of the ancient Ramayana.

In this interview Aaron Carpenè explains how the project came to life and about his meeting with King Norodom Sihamoni.

The event will take place from 19 to 23 February 2020.
