Premio Strega is the best-known literary prize in Italy. Over the years was given to authors such as Umberto Eco, Natalia Ginzburg, Mario Soldati, Elsa Morante and many others renowned Italian authors.
The five finalists for 2019 were recently nominated and Kylie Doust, who is part of the jury, told us about the books and gave us some background on their authors.
This is the first edition in which the finals have a majority of women, Kylie told us.
