Labor Attaché to Australia Melissa Mendizabal explained what the OFW Pass is and how it differs from the Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) for Filipino migrant workers in Australia.

Key Points
  • The OFW Pass, implemented by the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers last year, is a digital document that can be obtained online for free through eGov PH.
  • It is a simplified system for completing the requirements of an OFW to return to their job site after vacationing in the Philippines.
  • Only returning workers or Balik-Manggagawa are eligible to get an OFW Pass, provided they have a copy of a verified OEC from the Migrant Workers Office.
