Ginugunita ang Philippines-Australia Friendship Day tuwing ika-22 ng Mayo, isang tradisyong itinatag sa ilalim ng Presidential Proclamation No. 1282 (series of 2016) ng Pilipinas. Ang petsang ito ay pinili bilang paggunita sa pagkakatatag ng unang Australian Consulate-General sa Manila noong 1946.
Ngayong 2026, ang pagdiriwang ay may mas malalim na kahulugan dahil ginugunita ng dalawang bansa ang ika-80 anibersaryo ng kanilang pormal na diplomatikong ugnayan. Ang Pilipinas at Australia ay kapwa aktibo sa selebrasyong ito sa ilalim ng Strategic Partnership Agreement na pinagtibay noong 2023.
