Kamakailan, idineklara ng Department of Agriculture na Cacao Capital of the Philippines ang Davao City.


Sinabi ni Mayor Sara Duterte na malaki ang naiambag ng Davao City sa matagumpay na cacao production sa bansa. Noong nakaraang taon lang ay nakapagproduce ng 2,289 metric tons ng cacao ang Davao City.

Sa tala ng Department of Agriculture, 78.96 per cent ng cacao production ng buong bansa ay mula sa Davao region.
