Johnny Hallyday (1943-2017): Why the Germans loved him too

French singer Johnny Hallyday has died at 74 after a battle with cancer. Mr Hallyday was a rock and roll legend in his native country France, with a career that lasted more than 50 years. However, he's fondly remembered in Germany too, not the least for his German-sung hit single "Ma Guitare".
