Shark attacks are rare, but the fear of marine predators remains present among many swimmers and surfers. Until now, experts have relied on high-tech solutions, protective nets or special suits to keep sharks away from humans. A surprisingly simple method could now also be effective: LED lights on surfboards. They are intended to deter predatory fish and thus reduce the risk of attacks.
