SPD chairman Martin Schulz announced his immediate withdrawal from the party leadership in Berlin. SPD presidium and board have unanimously nominated faction leader Andrea Nahles as future party leader. Until a special party meeting in Wiesbaden in April, party member Olaf Scholz is to provisionally lead the SPD. The party members vote on the coalition agreement negotiated with the CDU and CSU. The result should be available at the beginning of March.
