Indian-style Goat curry

Goat is a wonderfully lean meat that tastes amazing and is a staple food across the globe. Try this Indian curry style with naan/bread or rice.

Ingredients

  • 500gm goat (cut into curry pieces)
  • 5-6 tbl oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tbl ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5 green cardamom
  • 2 black cardamom
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 5 cloves
  • 1 ½ cups tomato puree
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbl dry fenugreek leaves
  • 1 tbl chilli powder
  • ½ tbl turmeric powder
  • 1 tbl garam masala
  • 1 tbl cumin powder
  • Water
  • Coriander for garnishing

Method

  • In a pressure cooker add oil, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, black cardamom, green cardamom, cloves, onion.
  • Cook this for about 5 mins then add tomato puree, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and salt.
  • Cook this for 5 min then add goat and garam masala powder, dry fenugreek leaves.
  • Cook this for about 10-15 min.
  • Add water, mix and presser cook on medium flame for about 15-20 mins or till the goat meat is cooked.
  • Garnish with coriander.
