Malai kofta curry

Ingredients

For Malai Kofta

  • 1 Cup Boiled mashed potato
  • ½ cup Bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander
  • 1 Cup Crumbed/Grated Paneer
  • 3 tbsp Finely chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tbsp Finley chopped green chilli
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

For kofta curry

  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 cup chopped tomato
  • 1tbl cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp Garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp cashews
  • ¼ cup thick cream
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • Water as needed
  • Chopped coriander for garnish

Method

  • Firstly lets make the malai koftas.
  • In a bowl add mashed potato, bread crumbs, chopped coriander, crumbed paneer, finely chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, green chilli, turmeric powder, Garam masala powder and salt.
  • Mix everything into dough like consistency.
  • Make small round balls and deep fry the balls till golden brown.
  • Keep them ready to add to the curry.
  • Now lets make the curry.
  • Take a pan add oil, add cumin seeds, onion and turmeric powder, cashew and salt.
  • Cook the onions till they turn translucent.
  • Add ginger garlic paste cook for 1 min and add tomato, red chilli powder, garam masala powder.
  • Mix add water if needed.
  • Once the tomato is about half cooked, turn the heat off let the curry cool down.
  • Transfer the curry into a grinder and grind it into a smooth consistency.
  • Put it back in the pan and cook till the curry is fully cooked.
  • Once ready turn the heat off and add the kafta balls and coat all the balls with the curry.
  • Garnish with some coriander and serve.
