Indo-Fijian author Edward Narain and Associate Professor Tarryn Phillips of La Trobe University have co-authored 'Sugar,' an ethnographic novel exploring the history of India's indentured workers in Fiji and the causes behind Fiji's high diabetes rates and social inequity. Here, they discuss how their fiction work confronts the array of complex matters affecting Fiji.
