Indonesia's reform in 1998 left wounds for those who experienced it. One of them is Rani Pramesti. Rani, who was then 12 years old and raised to love Indonesia, just realised that she was considered 'Chinese'.

On Sunday 10 June, a discussion entitled 'The 20th anniversary of the Reformation of Indonesia' from an art and economic standpoint was held at the Newtown Neighborhood Center, five kilometres from the center of Sydney, Australia. The event was hosted by NKRI-OZ, a non-profit community that promotes the Indonesian culture, heritage and language in Sydney as well as Indonesia. Rani Pramesti, an Indonesian-born performing arts artist based in Melbourne is one of the speakers in this event.
