"The virus is a distant cousin of SARS" explains Dr. Tony Bartone, President of the Australian Medical Associacion. But the new coronavirus we are talking about today, is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.

The 2019-n-CoV virus has already caused the death of 6 people and the infection of over 300.

It is part of the coronavirus strain such as MERS-Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-, and SARS -Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome- a disease first identified by the Italian doctor Carlo Urbani, who died of the effects of the disease in March 2003.

We talked about with Dr. Tony Bartone, President of Australian Medical Association (AMA).
