Jessica Pratt's debut at the Opera House in Sydney has been a triumph.

Opera Australia's decision to stage a superlative production of Gaetano Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor for Jessica's debut in Sydney has paid off. The Australian singer, now living in Italy, has responded by giving outstanding performances that will long be remembered by the thousands who filled the Joan Sutherland theatre. Jessica Pratt is only the third Australian soprano to sing Lucia at La Scala in Milan after Dame Nellie Melba and Dame Joan Sutherland.

On Tuesday night the Italian Institute of Culture will hold and event fittingly titled: "Jessica Pratt, the Queen of Bel Canto", while an Australian paper has described her as "the new Stupenda".

Jessica Pratt, however, is not only an outstanding soprano of exceptional talent, but also a great lover of nature, animals and her partner, soon to be husband, Riccardo as she reveals in this interview (in Italian).
