While the government reaches an agreement on new economic measures, aid worker Silvia Romano returns to Italy.


After the 100-day lockdown, "Phase 2" started in Italy on May 4, 2020. For the first time after the spread of coronavirus, the number of positive patients is decreasing across the whole country with the sole exception of Molise, whith 5 new patients.

The number of infections remains high: there are 78,457 patients in the country while the number of victims has exceeded 31,000.

The Government reached an agreement on the new economic decree, "Decreto Rilancio," which contains the most important measures to deal with the economic crisis triggered by the pandemic.

In the mean time, Silvia Romano, the 23-years-old aid worker kidnapped in Kenya on 20 November 2018, has returned to Italy.
