"In 2013 I was an artist-in-residence at Adelaide’s Flinders University, researching Albert Namatjira’s life. I became aware that Albert had been a lover of American pre-war popular music as well as an able dancer, but was never able to participate in social events because of government policies" said Italian-Australian artist Domenico De Clario.
His research is the staring point for "Songs for Albert" at La Mama, Melbourne on Sunday June 2, 2019.
The show will be followed by a viewing of reciproco, a video/narration of the recent international collaborative art project curated by Laura Cionci and Domenico de Clario showcasing the work of ten international artists and installed during April in five of Carlton’s iconic landmarks.
