Former Italian MP elected in Australia, Marco Fedi, has raised the alarm on the so-called "double taxation".


An Italian citizen who lives (temporarily or indefinitely) in Australia without being a member of AIRE (the register of Italians abroad), risks having to pay taxes in both countries if he or she does not follow some simple rules.

They are rules, however, that many Italians, especially those recently arrived in Australia, do not seem to be aware. We asked him to explain how to avoid nasty surprises.
