Elise Valmorbida's The Madonna of the Mountains (Faber & Faber) is on the national fiction shortlist for the prestigious Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards 2019.


The award-winning Italian Australian writer Elise Valmorbida grew up in Australia, but lives in London where she works as a writer-teacher.

Her book The Madonna of the Mountains is one of the finalists at this year's Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards (winners to be announced 31 January.) She is one of two Italo-Australian authors shortlisted, the other one being Moreno Giovannoni for his literary debut The Fireflies of Autumn.
