Silvia Cassamagnaghi, from Università Statale di Milano, presented her paper “Italians by chance or by choice” at the Diaspore Italiane conference in New York.


While the UK's Child Migrants Programme is fairly well known in Australia, where many British children were sent to for a “better life”, not many know that Italy had a similar program through which many Italian orphans where adopted in the United States.

Silvia Cassamagnaghi presented her research on the subject at the recent Diaspore Italiane conference in New York.
