For the first time, Geelong Korea with whole Korean baseball players challenge in the ABL 2018-19 season.
However, the walls of Australian professional baseball were higher than expected.
Geelong-Korea took down Melbourne Aces 3-1 in the Brut Australian Baseball League clash at Melbourne Ballpark on Thursday night.
From this match, new 4 Korean players including Jun-seok Choi, famous baseball player in South Korea, joined the Geelong Korea.
Choi said he will work hard to make good results with young players who play with him.
“I'm working with young players as a flying coach, so it's natural for me to run hard and I will make good results with good conventions”
South Korean legend Dae-Sung Koo, former Sydney Blue Sox pitcher and the current manager of Geelong-Korea's Australian Baseball League team, also expressed his expectations for the new players.
"I hope our young players will have a chance to see and learn a lot from newly joined players with many experiences in KBO”
29th November, more than 40 members of Australia Korea Young Professionals Association(AKYPA) visited the stadium and cheered for the Korean players in the first match against Melbourne Aces.
Mr Sunghyo Kim, Consul-General of the Republic of Korea in Melbourne invited them and had nice time to cheer together and make networking.
AKYPA’s Victorian Chapter President, Liz Johnston said Geelong Korea joining into ABL is a fantastic initiative and it is recommended.

“When I was living in Korea, I went a number of baseball matches in Korea. It’s very exciting. I think Australian baseball have a piece of Korean baseball in Australia. So, tonight match is great testimony.”
There are always Korean baseball fans in the Geelong Korea games in Australia. Korean fans said they were very proud of having Geelong Korea players and let's walk together.
Joon-hyun Kim, Korean baseball fan in the stadium, said "It's only been a short time since they first started. It`s the process anyway and it seems to be getting better and better.
Ki-Yun Hong, another Korean baseball fan said "It's not long since they started, and they have so many good players. We believe they'll get better grades in the future and eventually grow much better than they do now,"
