Indra Ban came to Australia back in 1975 and went on to become the first Nepali to receive the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM). Over the past 50 years, she has been guiding and supporting the Nepali community in Sydney and around Australia. In this sixth episode of the 10-part special series about her journey and experiences in Australia, Indra Ban speaks to SBS Nepali about being awarded the OAM, how she discovered being honoured, and her reaction upon receiving the news.
