With a population of around 40,000, the Uranw community lives in the western Terai belt of Nepal. They speak the Kudukh language, which is deemed special as it is believed to be the only existing Dravidian language in the country. Karam Puja is the most important annual festival for the community. Artist and Uranw community advocate Sangita Uranw spoke to Nepal correspondent Sewa Bhattarai about the celebration and its significance.
