Perth-based Kiran Gurung is preparing to take on a 177-kilometre marathon, wearing an S10 CBRN respirator and combat boots, and carrying a traditional Nepali knife, a khukuri. The former Gurkha is taking part in a 24-hour marathon from September 5 to raise funds for Legacy Western Australia, which provides support and services to veterans’ families. He spoke to SBS Nepali about his latest challenge and how he is preparing for the run.
