Australian-Bhutanese brother-sister duo hoping to make it big in football

Spain and Argentina have advanced to the FIFA World Cup 2026 final, with France and England set to battle for third place. This tournament has also sparked discussions about VAR, offside decisions, controversial refereeing calls and hydration breaks. SBS Nepali caught up with 18-year-old referee Rojan Rimal and 15-year-old Community Premier League player Rowena Rimal on our radio program, broadcast on Thursday 16 July. Both are based in Albury, where Rojan referees under Football Victoria and Rowena plays for Murray United FC. They reflect on an entertaining World Cup campaign and share their early favourites for next year's FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil.
