Elizabeth Close an Anungu woman and is an established Contemporary Aboriginal Visual Artist that has spent the past 14 years crafting a dynamic multi-disciplinary artform that she often expresses through mediums such as 2D art, large-scale muralist installations and digital media.
Elizabeth talks with NITV Radio about upcoming installation of her work Tarutharu, The Kaurna Skink in Darebin Arts FUSE Spring 2025 programming. A 27 meter long installation with lighting and design, Tarutharu will be in Melbourne sharing a South Australian Kaurna story. Elizabeth shares part of that story saying, "Taurtharu, who is the creator of the ancestors cut man in half to make his equal... Woman" and goes on to share how this is represented in the design on the skin of the installation which has a winding line down the body of the skink.
