NITV radio speaks with international artist Lisa Reihana, from Aotearoa New Zealand, her work will be on full display in new exhibition, Voyager, at Ngununggula, marking the gallery's first International Project.

"one of the most important things is to re-centre ourselves"

Since the 1990s Reihana has played a key role in particularly contemporary Māori art, in New Zealand challenging recorded histories, re-centering non-Western cultural identities and reshaping how histories of colonisation are represented and remembered. 

Lisa shares with NITV her artistic practice walking us through the Voyager exhibition and what she hopes Australian based visitors with experience.

Voyager with be exhibiting at Ngununggula, Southern Highlands Regional Gallery from the 6th September - 9th November 2025.
