NSW Health has added the Taj Indian Restaurant of Huskisson to the list of COVID-19 exposure sites in the south coast on Wednesday, January 6.
This comes after NSW Health confirmed that the restaurant was visited by a person who tested positive for the coronavirus on December 27 between 4:45 and 5:20pm.
Along with the Taj Indian Restaurant of Huskisson, The Nostalgia Factory in Kangaroo Valley, Ollie Webb Cricket Ground and Saravana Bhavan in Parramatta and Merrylands RSL were also identified as potentially high-risk locations on Wednesday night.
NSW Health has advised that diners at the Indian restaurant between 4.45 pm and 5.20 pm should immediately get tested and self-isolate until they receive a negative result, and continue to monitor for symptoms and test again if any symptoms develop.
The restaurant also shared updates on their Facebook page and thanked customers for their support and announced it will close its doors for a short period of time.
“The risk is low due to only being a casual contact and we are free to continue trading however we have decided to close doors to take precautions and get tested to stay safe regardless of symptoms or not.”
NSW has recorded four new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours until 8pm yesterday evening, and seven cases in returned travellers, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,806.
NSW Health continues to urge anyone in NSW with even the mildest symptoms, such as headache, fatigue, cough, sore throat or runny nose, to come forward immediately for testing, then isolate until they receive a negative result.
