An Mi-17 cargo helicopter of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed after it collided with an iron girder during landing near the Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand on Tuesday.

All passengers are reported to be safe and only suffered minor injuries.
The video of the mishap which was caught on camera shows the chopper plummeting to the ground and colliding with the iron girder just before crashing.

The Russian-origin transport helicopter which was carrying construction material toppled and reportedly caught fire after hitting the ground.

The IAF has launched a probe to ascertain the cause of the collision that led to the crash.

Meanwhile, in a similar incident in Uttarakhand, another Mi-17 helicopter had crashed during a rescue mission in June 2013, killing all 20 persons on board.
