Australia has deported at least 15 people of Indian origin, including 11 from Punjab. The Department of Home Affairs told SBS Punjabi that this was part of "planned charter removals" aimed at removing "unlawful non-citizens from Australia". The Indian government has confirmed it has accepted their return. In this podcast, SBS Punjabi looks at the details of the case and sheds light on the laws that can lead to the deportation of any non-citizen, including those holding permanent residency.
