Lack of awareness around their pelvic health is costing Indian-origin mums dearly, claims physiotherapist and pelvic health expert Nisha Kalia. She says that not only are the South Asian mums at a greater risk of a tear during childbirth, but also risk having long-term health issues, including urine leakage, joint and back pain, and other conditions which can impact their quality of life.
