New research shows nearly half of Australians would support a partial ban on Muslim migration, and around 75% believe the country is already full.

The results from the latest survey conducted by the Australian Population Research Institute have shown that the majority of Australians are not supportive of increasing the migrant intake.  Bob Birrell from the Institute says the results show a disconnect between what Australians want and the immigration ambitions of the country's major political parties.  He added that most respondents thought population pressures were adding to difficulties like urban congestion, housing affordability and job competition.
