TALANOA: Ms Tokasa Rainima of Fiji Broadcasting Corporation.

It was such a pleasure hosting one of our colleagues from the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation, Ms Tokasa Rainima, who is visiting us here at SBS.

Ms Tokasa Rainima, a journalist from the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation with executive producer of SBS Samoan, Ioane Lafoa'i, in one of the SBS radio broadcasting studios in Sydney.

Ms Tokasa Rainima is visiting Australia on a study tour of SBS sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and it was such a pleasure spending four hours with her explaining what we do to produce and broadcast the Samoan Program on Radio and Online.

We had a chance to chat live-to-air on her career at the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation as a court reporter and broadcaster in Fijian.

At times we forget that the media in some parts of the world is still somewhat constrained by the governments of the day who pay the bills and wages of its employees.

We are celebrating 50 years of broadcasting in LOTE here at SBS.
