நாட்டில் காய்ச்சல்(Influenza) தடுப்பூசி விகிதம் குறைந்துவிட்டதைப் பற்றி மருத்துவர்கள் எச்சரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர். 2025 ஆம் ஆண்டில் இதுவரை 4 இலட்சத்து 10 ஆயிரத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட, ஆய்வகத்தில் உறுதிப்படுத்தப்பட்ட காய்ச்சல் நோயாளிகள் எண்ணிக்கை பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதால், இது வரலாற்றிலேயே மிக அதிகமான காய்ச்சல் பரவலாகக் கணக்கிடப்படுகிறது. இதுபற்றி NSW மாநிலத்தின் Griffithஇல் பொது மருத்துவராகக்(GP) கடமையாற்றிவரும் வைத்தியர் யாழினி தேவசங்கர் அவர்கள் எமக்கு விளக்குகிறார். அவருடன் உரையாடியவர் மகேஸ்வரன் பிரபாகரன். GPs are sounding the alarm on Australia’s influenza vaccination rates, following a record flu season in which more than 410,000 lab-confirmed cases have been reported so far in 2025.
