10/05/2022. President Putin has insisted his attack on Ukraine was a pre-emptive strike, claiming with no evidence that Kyiv was planning operations against Russian-occupied parts of the country. He was speaking during a parade commemorating the defeat of Nazi Germany. President Zelenskyy marked the anniversary by comparing Mr Putin's war to that of the Nazis. Meanwhile Russian artillery has continued to pound eastern Ukraine. Here's your update from the BBC...
