Ukraine's president has used an address to the United Nations Security Council to liken Russia's assault on his country to Nazi war crimes, as Russia faces more sanctions and further exclusion from the international community.

The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked the UN Security Council to take tougher measures against Russia over its alleged killings of civilians. The NATO Secretary-General, Jens Stoltenberg, says Moscow hasn't given up its ambitions in eastern Ukraine, but the alliance is determined to deliver more weapons to Kyiv.
