6/05/2022. Russia says it carried out multiple artillery strikes on Ukrainian positions overnight. The Russian defence ministry said it killed six hundred Ukrainian fighters in eastern parts of the country - but there is no independent verification of this. Meanwhile a Ukrainian military commander says Russia has thwarted another attempt to evacuate civilians from a beseiged steelworks on Ukraine's south coast.
