As the FIFA World Cup season kicks off, the streets of Lyari, a suburban neighbourhood of Karachi, come alive with a vibrant festive spirit. In Lyari, a man widely known as “Mama Brazil” runs a stall displaying jerseys of famous footballers, while locals are seen eagerly hoping for standout performances from their favourite stars.
Mama Brazil says that the FIFA World Cup has become an annual festival in Lyari.
