During Ramadan, many children show enthusiasm to observe fasting, which often raises concerns among parents about maintaining proper nutrition during this important stage of growth. Ensuring that young fasters receive balanced and nourishing meals during non-fasting hours is essential for their health, energy levels, and overall development. This podcast features expert nutritionist Rida Tahir, who discusses practical strategies for supporting children’s nutritional needs while they participate in fasting.

During Ramadan, children are also inspired to fast by observing the elders. Regarding this, nutritionist Rida Tahir says that children should be given protein-rich meals during Suhoor and Iftar.

Rida states that while keeping in mind the needs of their growing age, a diet with complex carbs and a higher amount of protein should be chosen.

To prevent dehydration, children should be given drinks that are free of sugar and also be provided with fruits that have a high water content.
