Muqsit Shahid says that his sporting journey began with cricket, but over time his passion for baseball continued to grow. He adds that his early cricket practice greatly helped him in baseball, allowing him to develop quickly in the sport. He explains that he has always worked beyond his age and level, consistently proving himself not only at the local level but also at club, state, and national levels. Despite his achievements, his goal has always been to perform at a professional and international standard.
According to Muqsit, he has always received opportunities in Australia purely on merit. He highlights that in a multicultural society, individuals are judged based on performance rather than background.
He further states that he never felt his overseas family background created any barrier, as he consistently received equal opportunities and support throughout his journey.
Muqsit’s father, Shahid Malik, says that he initially had limited understanding of the technical side of baseball, but he always encouraged his son to move forward with hard work and dedication. He adds that his only wish was for his son to succeed through determination and effort.
Shahid Malik further states that Australia is a country where people from diverse communities live together, and in every field, including sports, everyone is given equal opportunities. He believes this inclusivity is what makes Australia truly unique.
