'Uncertainity looms as the sun rises in Kabul under Taliban rule'

The Taliban took control of Kabul and President Ashraf Ghani fled the country on Aug. 15, marking the Islamist militant group's return to power 20 years after its removal by U.S.-led forces.

It is a day of fear, uncertainty, and stress in the Afghan capital Kabul. Shops and markets are closed and some incidents of looting and stealing forced citizens to guard their neighborhoods overnight. 'People are still in fear and waiting for the next move of new rulers.' Country director of Equal Access International Anwar Jamali is living in Kabul for almost twenty years and sharing his on-hand experience of day one under Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
