A charity that feeds more than 700,000 people a month is expressing immense relief after Prime Minister Scott Morrison intervened to ensure the charity's funds will not be cut.

Foodbank was set to lose more than $250,000 a year from its budget, a cut of more than 40 per cent, due to a redistribution of money between charities.

But the Prime Minister has announced he is increasing relief funding to prevent it happening.
