Prime Minister Tony Abbott has refused to confirm reports terrorists will face automatic sanctions that strip them of their citizenship.
"What I can confirm is this government will put our policy into legislation and our policy is that we will strip citizenship from terrorists who are dual nationals," he told reporters in Canberra.
The legislation is due to be presented to the coalition party room on Tuesday and to parliament later in the week.

The final parliamentary sitting week before the long winter recess is usually a heated affair, sometimes even resulting in a change of prime minister.
Tony Abbott's position may be secure, but the changes to citizenship rules that he wants to introduce are likely to raise the temperature of debate as he continues to goad the Opposition over where it stands on the issue.

Mr Abbott wants Immigration Minister Peter Dutton to be able strip dual nationals of their Australian citizenship if they are suspected of fighting with terrorists abroad.
Labor frontbencher Jason Clare says the debate so far has been in a "vacuum" because very few people have actually seen the legislation.
