A Syrian migrant who was kicked and tripped by a Hungarian TV reporter has a new job as a football coach in Spain.

Spain's National Centre for training football coaches, Cenafe, says it will put the man, who was not identified by name, to work as soon as possible.

The man was tripped and kicked by the reporter as he was running from police at the Serbian border earlier this month.
He was carrying his seven-year-old son when he fell and a video of the reporter's actions went viral, drawing worldwide outrage.

The Syrian, who was expected to arrive in Spain on Wednesday evening, was coach in his home country of the successful Al-Fotuwa Football Club, a first league team.

The man fled war in Syria with his son, leaving behind his wife and two other sons, according to Cenafe president Miguel Angel Galan.

Galan says he got in touch with the Syrian migrant, who finally made it to Munich, Germany, through an Arab contact living in Spain.

Galan says the rest of the family will be brought to Spain, according to the sport newspaper "As".

"I will pay for everything, and the community administration [in Cenafe] has also promised help," Galan says.

When the Syrian reached Munich, he met his oldest son, age 18, who has been living in Germany for some time.

The reporter who tripped and kicked the migrants is the subject of a criminal investigation, the MTI news agency reported last week.

The reporter, Petra Laszlo, was swiftly fired by N1TV, an internet television channel close to the far-right opposition Jobbik party.
