It was after the recording of Insight episode, Nerves of Steel that former London firefighter, Aldo Dianna, and former Australian Defence Force fighter pilot, Matt Hall, got talking about the extraordinary events they have been involved in.
The pair have certainly found themselves in some life threatening situations, putting their lives on the line to save others. Dianna saved nine people from the Grenfell Tower inferno in 2017, while Hall was tracked by a guided missile in combat in the Middle East.
“We had a little bit of a bond,” says Diana.
So Hall, who flies competitively in Red Bull’s Air Race and takes passengers up for joy flights in Newcastle NSW, invited Dianna to go on an acrobatic flight with him.
“He’d never done anything like this before,” says Hall. “I thought it was a good opportunity to host our international guest.”
