Iran is threatening to close all shipping export corridors used by the US and its allies, after the US reimposed a naval blockade of Iranian ports.

Iran has been signalling it may shut the Bab el- Mandeb gateway to the Red Sea, through which Saudi oil exports and a substantial share of global shipping pass.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei says the US needs to respect an agreed peace deal to end the conflict between the two countries.

"Since the beginning, we have said commitment in return for commitment. Meaning we fulfill our commitments as long as the other side honors theirs. The other side violated [its commitments], and we, too, refrained from fulfilling ours wherever necessary. As we continue, it is the same path. It doesn't matter if we say it exists or doesn't exist. An agreement is not a strange thing; it's just a collection of reciprocal commitments."

.

There are calls to criminalise hate speech against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, as hearings continue in a Federal Government racism inquiry in Darwin.

The inquiry has moved around the nation, examing accounts of racism, hate and violence directed at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory chair Rob McPhee says racism is driving worse health outcomes for First Nations people.

"Many of our community are over-represented in terms of mental health issues and anxiety and depression and a lot of that is the direct result of the experience of racism either on an interpersonal level, so direct racism from other people or reading it on comments on social media - or being watched through a shopping centre or whatever it is. We know that it has an enormous impact on people and their ability to be strong."

.

An area two-thirds the size of Tasmania has come under a landmark agreement with Traditional Owners in the Northern Territory, meeting a major environmental target for Australia.

A huge swath of the Simpson Desert in the NT's southeast is now protected through Aboriginal management, ensuring a quarter of Australia's landmass is under some form of conservation agreement.

The Indigenous Protected Area signing took place on Wednesday at the remote Uluperte homelands, an agreement that covers more than 47-thousand square kilometres.

The IPA will be managed by the Central Land Council, who says the homelands were buzzing as bush medicine workshops began and cultural knowledge was shared.

.

And in World Cup news,

Argentina fans are celebrating the country's 2-1 win against England, in the World Cup semi-final clash.

Enzo Fernandez equalised with a long range strike and Lautaro Martinez scored a late goal in stoppage time - both with incredible Lionel Messi assists.

SBS spoke to fans on the ground in Atlanta, and this fan shared his admiration for Messi, who's playing in his sixth World Cup.

"He's the best one in the world, that's the only thing I have to say. Everyone were saying that we are the FIFA princess and everything, now tell me where was it rigged in this game? Never, we are the best ones."

Meanwhile, Argentina players have celebrated their victory by holding a banner that translates to 'The Falkland Islands are Argentinian', going against FIFA’s Stadium Code of Conduct.
